The much-anticipated second season of the musical adult cartoon Hazbin Hotel arrives on the streaming platform soon, and fan speculation has been widespread.
Season 1 presents a diverse group of personalities living within the afterlife, pits them against each other accompanied by songs detailing their conflicts, and builds heated competitions and emotional bonds that fuel fan obsession.
The community's expectations for season 2 vary widely, but certain threads recur frequently: Could a fan-favorite character escape his tormentor? Will we find out more about the binding agreement affecting the enigmatic Alastor? Might certain characters' relationships evolve?
"Naturally, I don't produce the show with fan service as the main goal," the showrunner stated earlier this year. "But I feel like me being a fan of my own show implies there's a lot of it just naturally. I also am eager for these things, and I hope some of these things to occur, and obviously some of these things are meant to happen in the show!"
She reveals her big-picture plan is for a five-season run of Hazbin Hotel. Future installments have already been green-lit by the production companies, which produce the series.
That could imply viewers have to be patient for some of the major resolutions — but they could be shocked at how quickly the new season progresses, and how many of what they're anticipating happens now.
"I feel like people are going to be highly satisfied," the creator notes. "We get some firsts. I think we receive some really amazing reveals, some fascinating backstories, and even just simple things, [like] I hope this character gets a song. […] Audiences will experience additional musical numbers from the previously silent cast members."
She's certainly aware of the guesses and hopes about the upcoming season — particularly in the format of fan bingo cards.
"I've seen a few fans create a prediction grid about the new season," she mentions. "Naturally I won't share it, but I've already completed some of them, and almost all of them have almost a bingo. I thought, Oh, if you put this [event] in this spot, it would be a bingo. So that makes me think we do a lot [of what fans are waiting for in this season], because I realized, Oh, there's multiple potential bingos on this card. So that makes me happy."
Hazbin Hotel the second season premieres on Prime Video on October 29.
